Salties at Sunset

Inspired by a photo taken at sunset, the details in the image were dark but the sky was magnificiant. I am OBSESSED with the wild horses of the Salt River here in Arizona.  They are bands, families, communities living out healthy lives with minimal human interference. Because there were so many details not available due to the darkness of the original image, I chose to paint this more in an Impressionist style and the result is a bit fantastical.  It inspires a smile on my face every day.
